#MakeitKoigu Feature: Crochet Best Friend Blanket

One of our favourite Koigu makes of the year - two best friends crocheting matching blankets out of Koigu Paint Cans!

Earlier this year, @timberyarns and @brethrck decided to make a blanket with all 13 of our Canadian Provincial/Territory Flower Paint Cans. They both purchased their paint cans from local yarn store @shallweknit in Kingsville, ON.

The two friends met over video chat during the pandemic and became crafting best friends when they met in person after the world opened up again. How amazing is that? They showed us their progress when they came to the Koigu tent sale this summer together and now one of their blankets is complete. We are in love with the results!

“We tried a few different designs for the squares and finally settled on the linen stitch. We both made the same squares but our colour placement is different so our blankets will look very different. Each blanket consists of 88 squares (6-7 squares per can) and my squares measure about 6” with the neutral edge. Blanket size is 48” x 66”. Blanket used 13 cans x 125g (5x25g) of Koigu Premium Painter’s Palette Merino and slightly more than 1 Hefty Hank from Koigu.” - @brethrck
